Istanbul International Airport has witnessed a historic moment with the simultaneous takeoff of three planes.

Axar.az reports according to Turkish media, the event coincided with the opening of three new runways at the airport.

Turkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, noted that this achievement is a first not just for Turkiye but for European aviation as well:

“This is a historic moment for global aviation. After the United States, Turkiye becomes the second country to make this possible. It will provide faster and safer travel for our passengers, and our airport will play a more prominent role on the global stage.”

Following the ceremony, the three planes took off simultaneously.
