In the first quarter of this year, China reduced oil imports from Russia by 14.7% compared to the same period last year, reaching 24.315 million tons.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.

The value of supplies for three months amounted to $ 13 billion, which is 22% lower than the level in January-March 2024.

Despite the decrease in volumes, Russia retained its position as the largest oil supplier to China.

It is noted that oil accounts for more than 40% of the total value of imports from Russia.

In March, supplies amounted to 8.85 million tons, which is 14% more than in February. In monetary terms, China purchased oil for $ 4.6 billion, which is 9% more than in the previous month.
