The United States has imposed sanctions on six individuals and six entities from Iran and China for their involvement in Iran's ballistic missile program, specifically in supplying the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) with key propellant materials.
Axar.az, citing JP, reports that the sanctioned Iranian company, Saman Tejarat Barman (STB), provided sodium perchlorate. In contrast, five China-based companies helped coordinate, fund, or supply chemicals used in missile production.
The individuals sanctioned are senior STB personnel.
These sanctions are part of the U.S. campaign to curb Iran’s missile and nuclear capabilities, following a directive signed by former President Donald Trump. The action also highlights China's role in supplying sanctioned materials to Iran, despite its rejection of U.S. sanctions. This move follows a series of recent sanctions targeting Iran’s nuclear program and oil exports.
