Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described a new minerals agreement with the U.S. as a “truly equal” deal, emphasizing it includes no repayment for past American aid.

Axar.az, citing Euro News, reports that the deal, which grants U.S. access to Ukraine’s critical minerals, aims to secure continued U.S. military and financial support.

Ukrainian officials say it is more favorable than past versions and will create a reconstruction fund.

However, public opinion in Kyiv is mixed—some are hopeful for national benefit, while others fear exploitation and loss of sovereignty. The agreement comes during a crucial moment in efforts to resolve the war with Russia.
