Yesterday, the Armenian national football team was unable to fly to Kosovo’s capital, Pristina, on a plane registered in Georgia.
Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Football Federation of Armenia.
It was stated that the reason was the lack of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Kosovo:
“Georgia does not recognize Kosovo’s independence. Diplomatic clearance from the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was required for a Georgia-registered aircraft to fly to Pristina. The airline could not obtain the necessary approval. As a result, the Armenian side had to change the aircraft and fly to Kosovo using a plane registered in the European Union.”
It should be noted that in the friendly match held on June 6, Kosovo crushed Armenia with a score of 5–2.
