A telephone conversation took place between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Axar.az reports that Erdogan said this in a statement after the Cabinet of Ministers meeting.

Erdogan said that a new door for peace is opening, and it is necessary to use it.

It should be noted that Putin proposed direct talks with Ukraine without any preconditions in Istanbul on May 15. Zelensky, in response, called for an immediate ceasefire and stressed that he would go to Istanbul to meet Putin in person on May 15.
