The US administration does not rule out that it will at some point tighten sanctions against Russia and increase military aid to Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this at a hearing held at the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Answering a question about the possibility of the current administration tightening sanctions against Russia and increasing arms supplies to Ukraine, Rubio noted that if it becomes clear that Russia is not interested in a peace agreement and wants to continue the conflict, this could be its end.

According to him, at this stage, in the opinion of the American administration, the threat of sanctions will cause the Russians to stop the discussion.
