Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen, who has been the world chess champion for 10 years since 2013, has set another record.
Axar.az reports that the chess player achieved a unique achievement by playing against 143,000 people at the same time. The match took place in a special format based on the rules of Fischer chess (random arrangement of pieces, except for pawns) on the Chess.com platform.
In the game, which began on April 4, Carlsen's opponent was the "rest of the world". Interestingly, such a large number of participants decided on each move together through online voting.
Unlike traditional chess, this game, which was played in a random order, ended in a draw in the 32nd move due to the repetition of moves. This match is considered a unique event in the history of world chess, both from a technical point of view and in terms of audience interest.
