An assassination attempt against Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi has been foiled.

Axar.az, citing Tasnim agency, Mohammad Hossein Ranjbaran, an advisor to Iran’s Foreign Minister, announced that his country successfully thwarted a significant conspiracy, allegedly orchestrated by the “Zionist entity,” to assassinate Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in the capital, Tehran.

He affirmed that the plot was foiled thanks to precise security measures implemented by Iranian intelligence operatives.

No further details about the event were disclosed.
