A nuclear threat looms over the Caspian Sea region, and Russia is doing everything possible to return the situation involving Iran and Israel to the path of negotiations.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, this was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.

“We are urging and doing everything possible to bring this back to the path of negotiations, fully aware of the physical threat hanging over the entire region — a region to which we also belong. The Caspian is involved. And the Caspian isn’t just Iran; it includes several countries, including our own. This has direct implications for us. Israel borders another body of water, which also neighbors many other states. Remember Fukushima — and that was a localized incident. Japan had every means to contain that disaster,” she said.
