Ukrainian prisoners of war who refuse to return are sent to a Ukrainian battalion under the command of the Russian Armed Forces after verification.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Viktor Vodolatsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Eurasian Integration.

“Today, there are prisoners of war who refuse to return to their homeland and want to stay here. Some of them, after verification, sign contracts with units created from soldiers of the Ukrainian army under the command of the Russian Armed Forces,” Vodolatsky said.
