Macron cannot ensure Israel's security. I hope he can do it on the streets of Paris.

Axar.az reports that Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said this in response to French President Emmanuel Macron's statement that his country would recognize a Palestinian state.

Saar called Macron's decision imaginary and dangerous and claimed that a Palestinian state could exist under the influence of Hamas.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also condemned Macron, saying that this step could lead not to peace in the region, but to the creation of a new Iranian-influenced state:

"The Palestinians want a state on their own, not next to Israel."
