Serbia does not support the European Union’s sanctions against Russia because they will have no impact on Russia but will seriously affect Serbia’s economy.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Serbia’s Minister for European Affairs Nemanja Starović.

He also noted that since Serbia is not an EU member, it does not have the security criteria presented by the EU.

The minister said that Serbia is ready to fully support the EU sanctions as soon as its EU membership is confirmed, that is, a few months before the official accession date.

He emphasized that Belgrade has openly and unequivocally condemned Russia’s invasion from the very beginning.
