The formation of a multipolar world and the emergence of new development centers, exemplified by BRICS, are being met with a confrontational stance from the West.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin.
“Illicit financial flows and social protection are among the main challenges of the modern era. Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we promised to focus on human needs and to leave no one behind. Reducing inequality in development levels between countries was set as a target. In this context, the partnership between donor and recipient countries, as well as reforming global economic institutions in a way that aligns with the interests of developing nations, were seen as key tools.
Unfortunately, these strategic goals have not translated into practical results. In recent years, the positive momentum of a multipolar world taking shape—and the emergence of new development hubs such as BRICS—has collided with the West’s confrontational position,” Pankin emphasized.
