We did not expel Armenians from Karabakh.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, in an interview with Germany’s Berliner Zeitung newspaper.

“They made the decision to leave on their own. Secondly, Azerbaijan had prepared a very comprehensive reintegration model. However, the Armenians refused to be part of this model.

This meant accepting Azerbaijani citizenship, becoming loyal citizens of Azerbaijan, and living in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan. There are appropriate procedures for those who wish to live as Azerbaijani citizens,” said Hajiyev.
