The United Kingdom will continue to support the Kyiv regime and will attempt to disrupt Russia–Ukraine negotiations in order to maintain its position in power.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Leonid Slutsky, head of the Russian State Duma’s Committee on International Affairs, in response to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s declarations of “unshakable support” for Ukraine.

“There is a clear explanation for all this: the UK, in advance coordination with Germany, is trying to sabotage peace talks on Ukraine through various provocations, having formed an anti-Russian alliance. The liberal ‘European elite’ seeks to escalate the current military situation further, primarily to protect their position in power,” Slutsky said.

It is worth noting that Russia has requested a UN Security Council meeting for July 31, proposing to discuss attempts to undermine Russia–Ukraine negotiations in Istanbul.
