US stock market opens higher

The U.S. stock market opened higher Friday with a rise in stocks of banking giants.

Axar.az reports citing Anadolu Agency.

The Dow added 46 points to begin the day at 21,228 points, while the S&P 500 rose 4 points to 2,438 points.

The Nasdaq climbed 10 points to start trading at 6,332 points -- a new all-time high.

American banking giants Citigroup and Bank of America saw their shares gain 1.5 percent and 1.7 percent, respectively, while JPMorgan Chase's stock price rose 1 percent.
