India seeks LNG supplies from Azerbaijan

India wants to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that Pandiyan T.V., head of the LNG division of the Indian company Bharat Petroleum, said this within the framework of the India Energy Week held in Goa.

The head of the division of Bharat Petroleum noted that the Indian state-owned oil refining company is negotiating with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) on the purchase of liquefied natural gas. At the same time, the company plans to buy LPG from the United States at a low price to diversify its supply and has announced a tender in this regard, Pandiyan said.
