Hungary's energy company MOL has reached an agreement to ensure the continued transportation of Russian crude oil through the pipeline that crosses Ukrainian territory.
Axar.az reports that Bloomberg shared this information.
It is noted that the statement from the Hungarian company was made after Ukraine effectively banned "Lukoil" from using it as a transit country in response to Russia's invasion. According to the agreement, MOL, which controls refineries in Hungary and Slovakia, took over the crude oil supply at the Belarus-Ukraine border from September 9. Previously, the Russian side was responsible for transporting crude oil to areas near the Ukrainian border in Hungary and Slovakia.
"The new agreement provides a sustainable solution for the transportation of crude oil via the Druzhba pipeline," said MOL's Executive Vice President Gabriel Szabo.
