The World Health Organization (WHO) recorded more than 30,000 cases of measles infection in the European region between January and October 2023.

Axar.az reports that in the warning issued by the European office of the WHO, it was announced that the number of infections increased 30 times during the first 10 months of last year compared to a year ago. The organization called on countries to carry out urgent immunization campaigns.

According to the WHO, the sharp increase in the number of people infected with the disease is related to the decrease in the number of measles vaccinations.
