Monkeypox vaccine distribution tops 3.6 million doses

Countries around the world have already allocated more than 3.6 million doses of vaccine to fight monkeypox.

Axar.az reports that this is stated in the information published on the website of the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to information, this figure includes 620 thousand doses promised for delivery by the European Commission, the United States, individual countries of the EU, as well as the Danish vaccine manufacturer "Bavarian Nordic".

In addition, Japan has promised to provide the most - about 3 million doses.

WHO also announced the creation of an "Access and Allocation Mechanism" (AAM) for monkeypox vaccines, drugs, and testing equipment to increase access to disease detection and treatment in humans.

It was reported that WHO, UN, Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization GAVI member states, as well as business representatives, will be involved in the mechanism.
