The remains of Australian ship were found 55 years later

The remains of the MV Noongah, which sank on August 25, 1969, were found at a depth of 170 meters.

Axar.az reports that the location of the ship was determined using a map of the seabed and video images.

There were 26 people on board when the ship sank in a storm while carrying steel off the coast of New South Wales, south-eastern Australia.

At that time, one of the largest sea search and rescue operations in the history of Australia was carried out, but it was possible to save the lives of only 5 people from the crew.
