Azerbaijan will express its dissatisfaction to the organizing committee of the Eurovision 2016 song contest in connection with the fact that Armenia’s entry waived the flag of the separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh in the first semi-final of the contest, Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesperson for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, told local media on May 11.
This issue is being investigated along with the organizing committee, Hajiyev said, calling such provocative actions of Armenia unacceptable.
He stressed that the Armenian side deliberately resorts to such actions to promote the illegal regime created in the occupied Azerbaijani territories as a result of occupation and bloody ethnic cleansing.
Such actions are contrary to the fundamental principles of the Eurovision song contest, Hajiyev added.
