NASA shares deepest infrared image of universe - Photo

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has produced the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe to date. Known as Webb’s First Deep Field, this image of galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 is overflowing with detail.

Axar.az reports that NASA released the first of the photos taken about 1.5 million kilometres away from the Earth at a meeting held at the White House with the participation of US President Joe Biden.

Note that the $10 billion James Webb telescope appears to be the successor to the 31-year-old Hubble Space Telescope.
