Our destroyed cemeteries in Yerevan -

From 1827 to 1920, the Muslim cemetery of the neighborhood near the mosque in the Tepebashı district of Yerevan city was documented in the city plans of the time. However, this cemetery was no longer visible in the 1943 plan.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Sabuhi Huseynov, the author, researcher, and historian of the study "The fate of Tepebashi neighborhood, the last remnant of Azerbaijan's national-cultural and historical heritage in the city of Yerevan: the destruction of the heritage of the Azerbaijani people in Armenia and the erasure of historical traces".

"It is clear from the modern satellite image that new residences have been built in the cemetery area, added to the neighborhood system. Unfortunately, we do not yet have documents related to this cemetery. However, in the city of Yerevan, each neighborhood had its own mosque and cemetery. The cemetery of the Armenians, who were later moved to the city, was located outside the city. After Armenians carried out genocide and deportation against Azerbaijanis, they also destroyed these cemeteries," the historian wrote.
