Iran says border reopening key issue with Azerbaijan

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated that reopening the border is one of the main issues in Iran-Azerbaijan relations.

Axar.az informs, citing Tasnim, Araghchi said over the past year, the matter has been raised in every meeting between the presidents of the two countries, as well as during his own talks with Azerbaijan’s foreign minister and other bilateral visits and contacts.

He added that the Republic of Azerbaijan has promised to review and reconsider the reopening of the passenger border with Iran, and that Tehran is still waiting for the decision.
