The Zangazur corridor project will be beneficial for the entire region.

Axar.az reports that Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said this in response to journalists’ question about whether Georgia would lose its role in the Middle Corridor after the opening of the Zangazur corridor.

Shalva Papuashvili stated that Georgia welcomes the Zangazur corridor initiative:

“A peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia opens new prospects for the entire region, and this is not only about the function of the transport corridor. It is important in terms of offering better conditions to carriers, and competition creates a more favorable environment. On the other hand, it is a sign of regional stability. Stability will increase both infrastructure support around the corridor and investments in various sectors in the region.”
