The U.S. blockade has cut off China’s and Cuba’s access to Venezuelan oil.
Axar.az reports, citing the Wall Street Journal.
According to the publication, after the detention of Nicolás Maduro, only oil tankers headed for the U.S. have been allowed to leave Venezuela.
“Since January 3, Venezuela’s oil exports have fallen by 75%. Over the next 10 days, the small amount of oil leaving the ports is intended either for the U.S. or for use in local refineries to produce fuel for the country’s population and industry.
As a result, the slowdown in Venezuelan oil supply has put China’s status as the world’s largest oil importer at risk. The country purchases oil from Russia, Iran, and Venezuela at significantly discounted rates,” the report stated.
