Azerbaijan and Iran discuss regional tensions

A telephone conversation took place between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyid Abbas Araghchi.

Axar.az reports that the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry published a statement on this.

The situation around Iran was discussed during the telephone conversation.

The minister said that the recent tension in the region is a cause for concern, and our country has always emphasized the need for all parties to refrain from steps and rhetoric that could lead to instability in and around Iran.

It was noted that it is important to resolve existing problems only in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, through dialogue and diplomatic means.

It was especially emphasized that Azerbaijan will never allow its airspace or territory to be used by any state to conduct military operations against neighboring Iran or any other country.

During the telephone conversation, views were also exchanged on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
