Britain to ban Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps

Britain is preparing legislation to ban Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), following the European Union’s decision to designate the force as a terrorist organization.

Axar.az, citing Times of Israel, reports that, according to The Times, the move would give UK authorities expanded powers to act against individuals linked to the IRGC, including passport seizures and enhanced stop-and-search measures.

The plan faces internal resistance, with intelligence and foreign office officials warning it could damage diplomatic channels with Iran and lead to retaliatory expulsions.

The proposed ban comes amid international condemnation of Iran’s violent crackdown on mass protests, which left thousands dead, a toll disputed by rights groups.
