On June 19, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Malaysian Ambassador Ahmad Kamrizamil Bin Mohd Riza as he concluded his diplomatic mission in the country.
Axar.az reports that during the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state and development prospects of friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia.
They emphasized the importance of developing political dialogue, intensifying mutual visits and contacts, expanding trade and economic relations, and promoting cooperation in the fields of energy, education, tourism, humanitarian affairs, and culture.
The discussions also revolved around cooperation between Azerbaijan and Malaysia within international organizations.
The officials highlighted the significance of the fruitful cooperation of the two countries within the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other multilateral platforms, as well as the importance of the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and the Islamic Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan both this year and next year, which would further expand cooperation between the two countries.
The sides also exchanged views on the post-conflict current situation in the region, the Azerbaijan–Armenia reconciliation process, and the prospects for regional cooperation.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
