As part of his official visit to Azerbaijan, Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ignazio Cassis visited Icherisheher.

Axar.az reports that according to the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration, the guest was welcomed by the organization’s Chairman of the Board, Rufat Mahmud, and the accompanying delegation.

During the visit, the vice president toured the Maiden Tower, the Palace of the Shirvanshahs complex, and the Siratagli religious-architectural complex.

He was also briefed in detail on Icherisheher’s rich historical and cultural heritage, ongoing restoration and conservation projects, as well as measures being taken to develop its tourism potential.
