Germany reaffirms support for Azerbaijan-Armenia peace

Germany’s Foreign Ministry has issued a statement marking the first anniversary of the Peace Summit held in Washington on Aug. 8 last year with the support of U.S. President Donald Trump, which paved the way for peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Axar.az reports that the statement was published on the ministry’s X account.

“This milestone created historic momentum in the relations between the two countries. We encourage both sides to move forward on this path,” the statement said.

The ministry stressed that Germany would continue to support the process in the South Caucasus.

“Peace & stability in the South Caucasus are in our common interest. Together with our EU and US partners, Germany will continue to support this process along the way.”
