Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations have already reached the level of a strategic alliance. Following the first contacts between the two Presidents, Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan ties have entered a new chapter, a new level.
Axar.az reports that Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said in an interview with journalists in Tashkent.
Hikmet Hajiyev noted that since then, relations between the two countries have risen from strategic partnership to the level of alliance, now reflecting an eternal friendship, which is a landmark first in Azerbaijan's diplomatic history.
Recalling the deep-rooted historical bonds and eternal friendship between the two peoples, the Presidential Assistant stated: “This bond is clearly reflected in the works of Alisher Navai and other Uzbek literary figures, as well as in friendly ties uniting our peoples. Based on the will of our peoples, our common history, and our cultural roots, a document on eternal friendship will be signed by the Presidents as part of the visit. In other words, the historically rooted, de facto eternal friendship between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan is reflected in the political sphere as well.
