A formal welcoming ceremony for the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, was held at the Kuksaroy State Residence in Tashkent on August 23.

Axar.az reports that an honor guard was lined up in President Ilham Aliyev’s honor in the square where the national flags of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan were flying.

President Ilham Aliyev was welcomed by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan were played.

The commander of the honor guard reported to the Azerbaijani President.

The presidents inspected the honor guard.

Members of Uzbekistan’s state and government delegation were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev, while members of the Azerbaijani delegation were introduced to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The honor guard marched past the presidents to the accompaniment of a military march.

The heads of state posed for a joint photograph.
