Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has described the outcome of the historic meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and the United States in Washington as a victory resulting from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s personal diplomacy.

Axar.az reports that the Uzbek President said this at the third meeting of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Supreme Intergovernmental Council.

“We regard the historic meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and the United States in Washington last August and the signing of the Joint Declaration as a brilliant victory for your personal diplomacy. I congratulate you once again and wish you further great successes,” Mirziyoyev said.

The Uzbek President also noted that President Aliyev’s sovereign policy has contributed to strengthening Azerbaijan’s international standing, as well as advancing the agenda of peace and development in the South Caucasus.
