Uzbekistan seeks separate Azerbaijan transport corridor

Uzbekistan is interested in creating a separate Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan transport corridor across the Caspian with a single operator.

Axar.az reports that Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said this at the third meeting of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Supreme Intergovernmental Council.

“Our transport ministers face serious tasks. As part of the development of the Middle Corridor, we need to accelerate the launch of a joint fleet in the Caspian Sea. We also discussed this with Ilham Heydarovich in a restricted-format meeting. We need to speed up this process. We are also interested in creating a separate Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan corridor across the Caspian with a single operator,” Mirziyoyev said.
