On August 31, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Axar.az reports that fondly recalling his meetings and telephone conversations with the President of Azerbaijan, Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev’s position, the support demonstrated, the condolences expressed, and the humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan during the difficult situation faced by Iran were highly appreciated by the Iranian state and people. He once again expressed his gratitude for all of this.

Highlighting the significant opportunities for the development of bilateral ties, the Iranian President noted that Iran is interested in expanding relations with Azerbaijan in all fields.

Describing relations between the two countries as brotherly and friendly, Masoud Pezeshkian said that Iran intends to maintain good relations with all neighboring countries.

In turn, President Ilham Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan’s assistance to Iran amid the difficult circumstances faced by the country was an example of brotherhood.

President Ilham Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan advocates resolving the situation concerning Iran through peace and negotiations.

During the conversation, the Presidents exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran across various areas.
