Bayramov, Lithuanian FM hold phone talks

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone call with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys.

Axar.az reports, citing Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, that the ministers discussed the current state of Azerbaijan-Lithuania bilateral relations and prospects for further development.

They emphasized the importance of maintaining political dialogue and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The sides also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation through multilateral platforms. Budrys briefed Bayramov on Lithuania’s preparations to assume the presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2027. In the context of Azerbaijan-EU relations, the ministers exchanged views on efforts in a number of areas during Lithuania’s upcoming presidency.

The ministers also discussed regional security, the situation in the South Caucasus and ongoing efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region, as well as other international issues of mutual interest.
