The US embassies issued a joint statement on the July 21 protest in front of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles.

"The US embassies in Baku and Yerevan condemn acts of violence that violate the universal principles of peaceful assembly and protest. The United States takes its commitment to protecting diplomatic facilities and works with local law enforcement to support these efforts. Freedom of Speech and Peaceful Assembly "Law enforcement agencies will take appropriate action against acts of violence. We call on all demonstrators to participate peacefully and to exercise restraint," the statement said.
