German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul warned that Russia continues to pose a serious threat to life and security in Germany following recent severe attacks on Ukraine.

Axar.az, citing Deutschland, reports that he emphasized that Russia’s war of aggression remains the biggest security challenge in Europe and a top priority for German foreign policy. Wadephul supported NATO’s decision to increase defense spending and praised the role of German soldiers operating Patriot air defense systems near the Ukraine border.

Similarly, Chancellor Friedrich Merz cautioned against complacency about Germany’s security, stressing the need for continued efforts to protect freedom, peace, and safety amid the ongoing conflict with Russia.
