The response to the official protest letter sent to the International Olympic Committee by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Olympic Committee regarding the biased statements of the reporter of the national television channel "France2" against Azerbaijan at the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games held in Paris, the capital of France, on July 26.

The Public Relations Department of the Ministry informed that in its response letter, the International Olympic Committee apologized to Azerbaijan for the statements made by the reporter of "France2" TV channel during the commentary of the opening ceremony of the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.
The letter stated that such words contradict the principles and values promoted by the International Olympic Committee through sports and the Olympic Games. Therefore, contact was made with the institutions and persons responsible for this issue, and IOC work principles and protocols were reminded to avoid such situations in the future.
"Taking into account the biased position of the France 2 TV channel, the broadcaster of the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games, against our country and the International Olympic Committee's letter of apology to Azerbaijan for this incident, we expect the French government to officially apologize to Azerbaijan," the Ministry said.
