Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

"Dear Mr. President,

I sincerely congratulate you and all your people on the occasion of your national holiday – the Day of German Unity, on behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan.

We attach special importance to the comprehensive development of Azerbaijan-Germany relations. I believe we will continue to make joint efforts to strengthen and expand our friendly relations, including mutually beneficial cooperation in political, economic, and humanitarian fields.

I express my hope that we will closely cooperate with Germany during COP29 to be held in Baku in November.

On this festive day, I wish you good health, happiness, and lasting peace and prosperity for the friendly German people."
