The finalized text of the draft peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan doesn’t contain any provision about the return of refugees.

Axar.az reports Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan stated this.

“The agreed-upon text of the peace agreement with Azerbaijan doesn’t contain any provision about people who, before the fall of the USSR, had lived in the territories of the two countries and left them, returning to their homes or the territories where their ancestors once lived,” Mirzoyan told Members of Parliament.

He noted that the agreement provided mechanisms through which negotiations to normalize relations can be continued.

"The text has been agreed upon. Armenia proposes to begin consultations with Azerbaijan as soon as possible to agree on the place, time, and other details for the signing of the agreement," added Mirzoyan.
