U.S. Vice President JD Vance has begun a four-day visit to India, accompanied by his family, to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid ongoing trade tensions.

Axar.az reports that the visit, which includes personal engagements like visiting the Taj Mahal and attending a wedding in Jaipur, comes as India seeks to avoid steep U.S. tariffs by reaching an early trade deal.

The discussions will review bilateral trade and defense cooperation outlined during Modi’s February meeting with President Trump.

While no agreements are expected to be signed during this visit, it is seen as a key step toward strengthening U.S.-India ties and preparing for Trump’s upcoming visit to India.
