Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan talk cooperation

On May 8, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, had a telephone conversation with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov.

Axar.az reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the ministers discussed current issues related to strengthening cooperation relations between the two countries on the current agenda. The ministers expressed their confidence that the traditional friendly and fraternal relations that have historically existed between the two peoples will continue to develop based on partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

The importance of political dialogue at the level of heads of state, mutual exchange of visits, as well as consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in the development of relations between the two countries was noted.

The ministers also discussed issues of regional security, cooperation within international organizations, as well as on the Caspian Sea.

During the telephone conversation, views were also exchanged on other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
