Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hopes for the opening of the border during his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Axar.az reports that this was shared by Armenian Telegram channels.
According to the reports, on June 20, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is expected to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara. Pashinyan plans to once again raise the issue of opening the Armenia-Turkiye border during the meeting.
“The Armenian side believes that steps taken in foreign policy — especially improving relations with Turkiye — could ease public discontent related to the Armenian Apostolic Church. During the meeting, Erdogan is also expected to bring up a new issue. While in the past he focused mainly on a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, this time he is said to officially demand the closure of the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant, which Turkiye considers a threat to the environment,” the report said.
