The Zangezur corridor could bring major investments to Azerbaijan, said Matthew Bryza, former U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, at the International Investment Forum.

Axar.az reports, citing АPA, emphasizing that Azerbaijan has strengthened its independence by leveraging its connections with Turkiye, Georgia, and Europe, Bryza noted that Azerbaijan has created an attractive investment environment.

“At that time, Heydar Aliyev declared Azerbaijan’s oil and gas sector open to the world and said that we must attract foreign investors. Back then, the United States had not economic but geopolitical interests here,” the former ambassador added.

He noted that “the Karabakh conflict had always been a threat hanging over investors for many years.”

Matthew Bryza emphasized that changes need to be made to Armenia’s constitution and that territorial claims against Azerbaijan must be removed from it.
