It has been 5 years since the city of Ganja was subjected to the first rocket attack by the Armenian Armed Forces during the Second Karabakh War.
Axar.az recalls that on October 4, 2020, at around 10 am, the rockets fired by the Armenians fell on a civilian settlement in the second largest city of Azerbaijan, including a two-story building where residents lived, and private residential houses.
This rocket attack by Armenia was the first serious attack outside the Karabakh region, where the war was taking place. As a result of the enemy's bombing of Ganja, one civilian, Aliyev Tunar Goshgar oglu, was martyred, and 32 civilians were injured. In addition to residential buildings, civilian infrastructure and ancient historical buildings were also damaged.
It should be noted that during the Second Karabakh War, the city of Ganja was attacked by the Armenian Armed Forces with rockets and heavy artillery five times in total (on October 4, 5, 8, 11, 17). As a result, 26 people were killed, 175 were injured, and extensive damage was caused to civilian infrastructure facilities and vehicles in the city.
