Five years have passed since Ganja, the second largest city of Azerbaijan, was subjected to another rocket attack by the Armenian Armed Forces during the Patriotic War.
Axar.az recalls that on October 11, 2020, at around 02:00, the city center was subjected to a ballistic missile attack by the enemy.
Thus, despite the introduction of a humanitarian ceasefire regime on October 10, the Armenian army continued to intensively shell Azerbaijani settlements. Armenia once again targeted civilians in Ganja. As a result of the enemy's rocket fire on apartment buildings, 9 people, including 4 women, were killed and 35 were injured. One of the injured later died in the hospital.
In addition, more than 10 apartment buildings and more than 100 objects of various purposes were damaged. A criminal case has been initiated by the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code regarding the shelling of the city of Ganja. The moment of Ganja being shelled by rockets was recorded by the surveillance camera of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It should be noted that during the Second Karabakh War, the Armenian Armed Forces attacked the city of Ganja with rockets and heavy artillery five times (on October 4, 5, 8, 11, 17). As a result, 26 people were killed, 175 were injured, and civilian infrastructure facilities and vehicles in the city suffered extensive damage.
It should be noted that during the Second Karabakh War, as a result of Armenia's military aggression, 93 civilians, including 12 children and 27 women, were killed, 454 civilians were injured, a total of 12,292 residential and non-residential buildings, 288 vehicles were damaged, and 1,018 farms were damaged.
